Delayed sleep phase type sleep disorder is a circadian rhythm disorder that results in symptoms of sleep-onset insomnia and difficulty awakening at a desired time. Patients with delayed sleep phase-type sleep disorder can be treated with chronotherapy, light therapy, vitamin B12, or melatonin. Chronotherapy is a behavioral technique in which sleep time is systematically delayed. Herein we report a 48-year-old woman that presented with delayed sleep onset and describe chronotherapy as a…

Delayed sleep phase syndrome and melatonin treatment: A meta-analysis
TLDR
Results demonstrated moderate to strong effects, indicating that intervention with melatonin has an enhancing effect on patients with delayed sleep phase syndrome.
Effect of Natural Sunlight on Sleep Problems and Sleep Quality of the Elderly Staying in the Nursing Home
TLDR
It is suggested that allocating living places in the institution's architectural setting and providing social opportunities for elderly persons to get direct sunlight exposure can help increase the sleep quality of older adults.
CHRONOTHERAPY FOR NOCTURNAL ASTHAMA
TLDR
A smart drug delivery that is administrated before sleep and maintains high blood levels for longer period (from midnight to 8 am in the morning) could be very much beneficial for proper management of nocturnal asthma.
CHRONOTHERAPY: SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY OF DRUG SCHEDULING ON THE BASIS OF BIOLOGICAL RHYTHM
TLDR
Findings about the effects of biorhythms on various disorders, and their implications for drug therapy are discussed and the design of novel chronopharmaceutical drug delivery systems that might be able to release the therapeutic agents at predetermined intervals are reviewed.

Chronotherapy: resetting the circadian clocks of patients with delayed sleep phase insomnia.
TLDR
A brief drug-free rescheduling treatment for Delayed Sleep Phase insomnia, a syndrome characterized by sleep-onset insomnia with difficulty in morning awakening, which was designed to reset patients' biological clocks by the phase delay route.
Delayed sleep phase syndrome: a review of its clinical aspects.
TLDR
The management and outcome of the largest series of patients with delayed sleep phase syndrome thus far reported, which was often associated with major depression and was more resistant to treatment than other sleep disorders, is described.
Phase-shifting effects of bright morning light as treatment for delayed sleep phase syndrome.
TLDR
It is found that 2 h of bright light exposure in the morning together with light restriction in the evening successfully phase advanced circadian rhythms of core body temperature and multiple sleep latencies in patients with delayed sleep phase syndrome.
Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorders as a Possible Side Effect of Fluvoxamine
TLDR
It is speculated that FVA-induced CRSD is caused by the effect of FVA on serotonin and melatonin levels in the central nervous system, and can be treated by replacing the suspected FVA or adding melatonin to a beneficial FVA treatment.
Chronobiology of aging: Temperature, sleep-wake rhythms and entrainment
The prevalence of delayed and advanced sleep phase syndromes
TLDR
A cross‐sectional nationwide epidemiological study was performed in Norway to determine the prevalence of the delayed sleep phase Syndrome (DSPS) and the contrasting advanced sleep phase syndrome (ASPS), and diagnoses were based on International Classification of Sleep Disorders (ICSD) criteria.
Circadian rhythm sleep disorders: toward a more precise definition and diagnosis.
TLDR
A survey of the characteristics of patients suffering from circadian rhythm sleep disorders, a case-control study comparing a group of 50 CRSD patients and 56 age- and gender-matched normal subjects, and a proposal for new guidelines for improving the diagnosis of CRSDs are presented.
