Event-related potentials (ERPs) have been used to investigate cognitive dysfunction in alcoholics. Previous findings are not concordant. Thirty alcoholics, and sex and age matched healthy controls (N = 30) were tested. The average age of alcoholics and the controls were 43.8 +/- 10.3 years and 44.7 +/- 11.5 years, respectively.
