A detailed chromatographic and spectrophotometric analysis of carotinoids in Methylobascterium genus strains: M. extorquens B-3362, M. fujisawaense B-3365, M. mesophilicum B-3352. It has been shown that carotinoids of the studied strains are mainly represented by xanthophylls. The carotinoid common for all three strains and presented in the highest quantity was identified as oscilloxanthin. Carotene found in M. fujisawaense B-3365 and M. mesophilicum B-3352 species was identified as 3,4…
Methylobacterium cerastii sp. nov., isolated from the leaf surface of Cerastium holosteoides.
TLDR
Physiological/biochemical characterization and DNA-DNA hybridizations with the type strains of the most closely related species allowed a clear phenotypic and genotypic differentiation of the strains.
Isolation and characterization of antifungal violacein producing bacterium Collimonas sp. DEC-B5
Institute of Microbial Ecology and Resources, Mokwon University, Daejeon 35349, Republic of Korea(Received June 10, 2016; Revised June 22, 2016; Accepted June 27, 2016)ABSTRACT: Forty-nine pigments
Methylobacterium trifolii sp. nov. and Methylobacterium thuringiense sp. nov., methanol-utilizing, pink-pigmented bacteria isolated from leaf surfaces.
TLDR
Three pink-pigmented, aerobic, Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped and facultatively methylotrophic strains were isolated from the phyllosphere of Trifolium repens and Cerastium holosteoides and support the affiliation of all strains to the genus Methylobacterium.
The Biosynthetic Pathway for Myxol-2′ Fucoside (Myxoxanthophyll) in the Cyanobacterium Synechococcus sp. Strain PCC 7002
TLDR
This study expands the suite of enzymes available for metabolic engineering of carotenoid biosynthetic pathways for biotechnological applications by identifying two enzymes that modify the psi end of myxoxanthophyll in Synechococcus sp.

TLDR
Results from this study indicate that Methylobacterium are abundant and dominant members of the NZ phyllosphere environment, with species diversity and composition dependent on the host plant species.
Utilization of different carbon substrates by native pink pigmented facultative methylotrophs isolated from direct seeded rice
TLDR
Based on the observed characteristics, the isolates obtained belong to the genus Methylobacterium, and they are identified as pink pigmented facultative methylotrophs and their beneficial effects on direct seeded rice.
Genome-scale reconstruction and system level investigation of the metabolic network of Methylobacterium extorquens AM1
TLDR
This work suggests that the metabolism of the bacterium has evolved both structurally and functionally to an efficient but transitory utilization of methanol, and provides a basis for metabolic engineering to convert meethanol into value-added products.
Prospect of pink pigmented facultative methylotrophs in mitigating abiotic stress and climate change
Apparently, climate change is observed in form of increased greenhouse gases (CH4, CO2, N2O, CFC), temperature (0.5–1°C), and UV radiations (UV B and UV C). It is affecting every aspect of ecosystem
Specialized Metabolites from Methylotrophic Proteobacteria.
TLDR
This chapter will examine the predicted biosynthetic potential of methylotrophs, an underexplored metabolic group of bacteria that have several growth features that make them enticing in terms of specialized metabolite discovery, characterization, and production from cheap feedstocks such as methanol and methane gas.
