The electrical impedance in the vagina (EIV) is significantly high in the proestrus stage compared with other stages of the estrous cycle in rats. Therefore, the EIV can be used to detect the optimum day for mating. The relation between the EIV and the conditions of the epithelial cell layer of vaginal mucosa were investigated.
