Using a rapid technique to assess drug-induced cell toxicity, a fibrosarcoma cell line was exposed in vitro to increasing concentrations of embelin, a benzoquinone derivative of Embelia ribes Burm., and simultaneously inoculated with [3H]-thymidine.
