(E)-N′-(2-Chloro-5-nitrobenzylidene)-3-methoxybenzohydrazide monohydrate

Abstract

In the hydrazone mol-ecule of the title compound, C(15)H(12)ClN(3)O(4)·H(2)O, the two benzene rings form a dihedral angle of 3.6 (1)°. In the crystal structure, the solvent water mol-ecules are involved in the formation of inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, which link the mol-ecules into double ribbons extending along the b axis.
