Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the United States. A major contributor to CVD is the growing epidemic of overweight and obesity. Among adults in the United States, the prevalence of overweight and obesity, defined as having a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25 kg/m, was 68.0% in 2007Y2008.
