The results suggest that the RF method predicts at 98.21% specificity and 95.09% sensitivity, which is nearly 10% greater in total accuracy than the previous study, Triplet-SVM-classifier, which indicated that the improvement was due to both the combined features and the RF algorithm.
The sequence and de novo assembly of the giant panda genome
- Ruiqiang Li, Wei Fan, Jun Wang
- BiologyNature
- 21 January 2010
Using next-generation sequencing technology alone, a draft sequence of the giant panda genome is generated and assembled, indicating that its bamboo diet might be more dependent on its gut microbiome than its own genetic composition.

This corrects the article to show that the Higgs boson genome is a “spatially aggregating ‘spatiotemporal ’ organisation’, rather than a ‘cell-based’ organisation, which is more closely related to the immune system.

Draft genome of the living fossil Ginkgo biloba
- Rui Guan, Yunpeng Zhao, Wenbin Chen
- BiologyGigaScience

The ginkgo genome consists mainly of LTR-RTs resulting from ancient gradual accumulation and two WGD events, which sheds light on sequencing large genomes, and opens an avenue for further genetic and evolutionary research.
Multiple gene methylation of nonsmall cell lung cancers evaluated with 3‐dimensional microarray

Aberrant DNA methylation of the CpG islands for cancer‐related genes is among the earliest and most frequent alterations in cancer and may be useful for diagnosing cancer or evaluating recurrent…
The Fate of miRNA* Strand through Evolutionary Analysis: Implication for Degradation As Merely Carrier Strand or Potential Regulatory Molecule?
The final fate of miRNA* strand, either degraded as merely carrier strand or expressed abundantly as potential functional guide miRNAs with abundant expression, may be destined across evolution.
