RankClus: integrating clustering with ranking for heterogeneous information network analysis
- Yizhou Sun, Jiawei Han, Peixiang Zhao, Zhijun Yin, Hong Cheng, Tianyi Wu
- Computer ScienceInternational Conference on Extending Databaseā¦
- 24 March 2009
This paper addresses the problem of generating clusters for a specified type of objects, as well as ranking information for all types of objects based on these clusters in a multi-typed information network, and proposes a novel clustering framework called RankClus that directly generates clusters integrated with ranking.
Geographical topic discovery and comparison
- Zhijun Yin, Liangliang Cao, Jiawei Han, ChengXiang Zhai, Thomas S. Huang
- Computer ScienceThe Web Conference
- 28 March 2011
The results confirm the hypothesis that the geographical distributions can help modeling topics, while topics provide important cues to group different geographical regions.
Survey on social tagging techniques
- Manish Gupta, Rui Li, Zhijun Yin, Jiawei Han
- Computer ScienceSKDD
- 9 November 2010
Different techniques employed to study various aspects of tagging are summarized, including properties of tag streams, tagging models, tag semantics, generating recommendations using tags, visualizations of tags, applications of tags and problems associated with tagging usage.
A Unified Framework for Link Recommendation Using Random Walks
- Zhijun Yin, Manish Gupta, Tim Weninger, Jiawei Han
- Computer ScienceInternational Conference on Advances in Socialā¦
- 9 August 2010
This approach estimates link relevance by using random walk algorithm on an augmented social graph with both attribute and structure information and outperforms state-of-the-art methods for link recommendation.
LINKREC: a unified framework for link recommendation with user attributes and graph structure
- Zhijun Yin, Manish Gupta, Tim Weninger, Jiawei Han
- Computer ScienceThe Web Conference
- 26 April 2010
This paper proposes several link recommendation criteria, based on both user attributes and graph structure, which outperforms state-of-the-art methods based on network structure and node attribute information for link recommendation.
Latent Community Topic Analysis: Integration of Community Discovery with Topic Modeling
- Zhijun Yin, Liangliang Cao, Quanquan Gu, Jiawei Han
- Computer ScienceTIST
- 1 September 2012
The model separates the concepts of community and topic, so one community can correspond to multiple topics and multiple communities can share the same topic, and confirms the hypothesis that topics could help understand community structure, while community structure could help model topics.
A Scalable Framework to Detect Personal Health Mentions on Twitter
- Zhijun Yin, D. Fabbri, S. Rosenbloom, B. Malin
- MedicineJournal of Medical Internet Research
- 1 June 2015
A scalable framework to detect personal health status mentions on Twitter and assess the extent to which such information is disclosed, finding that tweets from a small subset of the health issues can train a scalable classifier to detect health mentions.
Diversified Trajectory Pattern Ranking in Geo-tagged Social Media
- Zhijun Yin, Liangliang Cao, Jiawei Han, Jiebo Luo, Thomas S. Huang
- Computer ScienceSDM
- 1 December 2011
This paper investigates how to rank the trajectory patterns mined from the uploaded photos with geotags and timestamps to reveal the collective wisdom recorded in the seemingly isolated photos and the individual travel sequences reflected by the geo-tagged photos.
A systematic literature review of machine learning in online personal health data
- Zhijun Yin, Lina M. Sulieman, B. Malin
- MedicineJ. Am. Medical Informatics Assoc.
- 25 March 2019
It is indicated that ML can be effectively applied to UGC in facilitating the description and inference of personal health and future research needs to focus on mitigating bias introduced when building study cohorts, creating features from free text, improving clinical creditability of UGC, and model interpretability.
Sampling cube: a framework for statistical olap over sampling data
- Xiaolei Li, Jiawei Han, Zhijun Yin, Jae-Gil Lee, Yizhou Sun
- Computer ScienceSIGMOD Conference
- 9 June 2008
A Sampling Cube framework, which efficiently calculates confidence intervals for any multidimensional query and uses the OLAP structure to group similar segments to increase sampling size when needed is proposed.
