It is shown that trehalose also protects cells against subsequent pro-apoptotic insults via the mitochondrial pathway, which may be relevant to the treatment of HD and related diseases, where the mutant proteins are autophagy substrates.
STUDIES ON POLYSACCHARIDES FROM THREE EDIBLE SPECIES OF NOSTOC (CYANOBACTERIA) WITH DIFFERENT COLONY MORPHOLOGIES: COMPARISON OF MONOSACCHARIDE COMPOSITIONS AND VISCOSITIES OF POLYSACCHARIDES FROM…

The vertical microdistribution of cyanobacteria and green algae within desert crusts and the development of the algal crusts
- Chunxiang Hu, Delu Zhang, Zebo Huang, Yongding Liu
- Environmental SciencePlant and Soil
- 1 November 2003
It was concluded that biomethods (such as fine species distribution and biovolume) were more precise than mineralogical approaches in judging algal crust development and thus could be a better means to measure the potentiality ofAlgal crusts in desert amelioration.

Autophagy-related Gene 7 (ATG7) and Reactive Oxygen Species/Extracellular Signal-regulated Kinase Regulate Tetrandrine-induced Autophagy in Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma*
- Ke Gong, Chao Chen, Y. Zhan, Yan Chen, Zebo Huang, Wenhua Li
- Biology, ChemistryJournal of Biological Chemistry
- 27 August 2012
Results suggest that the generation of ROS plays an important role in promoting tetrandrine-induced autophagy and may be a promising clinical chemotherapeutic agent for human hepatocellular carcinoma.
miR-503 regulates the resistance of non-small cell lung cancer cells to cisplatin by targeting Bcl-2.
- Tianzhu Qiu, Li Zhou, Ping Liu
- Biology, ChemistryInternational Journal of Molecular Medicine
- 1 September 2013
The results suggest that miR-503 regulates cell apoptosis, at least in part by targeting Bcl-2, and thus modulates the resistance of non-small cell lung cancer cells to cisplatin.
Prognostic Value of PLR in Various Cancers: A Meta-Analysis
A meta-analysis of published studies demonstrated that PLR could act as a significant biomarker in the prognosis of various cancers.
miR-20a induces cisplatin resistance of a human gastric cancer cell line via targeting CYLD.
- Mingxia Zhu, Xin Zhou, Tongshan Wang
- BiologyMolecular Medicine Reports
- 1 August 2016
The results of the present study suggested that miR‑20a directly repressed the expression of CYLD, leading to activation of the NFκB pathway and the downstream targets, livin and survivin, which potentially induced GC chemoresistance.
