The diagnosis of a DRESS syndrome has been sufficiently established on the basis of typical clinical features and viral reactivations
- T. Shiohara, M. Iijima, Z. Ikezawa, K. Hashimoto
- MedicineBritish Journal of Dermatology
- 1 May 2007
It is demonstrated that human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) can be reactivated at a particular time point, namely 2–3 weeks after onset of rash, and it is concluded that HHV- 6 reactivation may be used to confirm a clinical diagnosis.
Frequency of food-dependent, exercise-induced anaphylaxis in Japanese junior-high-school students.
- Y. Aihara, Y. Takahashi, S. Yokota
- Medicine, EducationJournal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology
- 1 December 2001
This study showed that FEIAn and EIAn are relatively rare diseases among junior-high-school students in Yokohama, Japan, and it is important that not only physicians but also school nurses and teachers of physical education be aware of these diseases.
Food‐dependent exercise‐induced anaphylaxis: influence of concurrent aspirin administration on skin testing and provocation
- M. Aihara, M. Miyazawa, Z. Ikezawa
- Medicine, BiologyBritish Journal of Dermatology
- 1 March 2002
Provocation tests in patients with food‐dependent exercise‐induced anaphylaxis (FDEIA) are often negative, even after a sufficient quantity of the implicated food and exercise have been taken.
Digestibility of allergens extracted from natural rubber latex and vegetable foods.
- T. Yagami, Y. Haishima, A. Nakamura, H. Osuna, Z. Ikezawa
- Biology, MedicineJournal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology
- 1 October 2000
The results indicate that the allergenicity of a newly expressed protein should be carefully evaluated according to not only its digestibility but also other important properties.
Serum periostin levels are correlated with progressive skin sclerosis in patients with systemic sclerosis
- Y. Yamaguchi, J. Ono, K. Takahashi
- Medicine, PsychologyBritish Journal of Dermatology
- 1 April 2013
The role of periostin in the pathogenesis of systemic sclerosis (SSc) is unknown and its role in wound healing and fibrosis is unknown.
IgE antibody to fish gelatin (type I collagen) in patients with fish allergy.
- M. Sakaguchi, M. Toda, S. Inouye
- Biology, MedicineJournal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology
- 1 September 2000
Some fish-sensitive patients possessed IgE antibody to fish gelatin, which might be an allergen in subjects with fish allergy, as well as bovine type I collagen, which is found in fish meat and skin.
A probable role for vaccines containing thimerosal in thimerosal hypersensitivity
- J. Osawa, K. Kitamura, Z. Ikezawa, Hiroshi Nakahma
- Medicine, BiologyContact Dermatitis
- 1 March 1991
From patch testing in humans and animal experiments, it is suggested that 0.01% thimerosal in vaccines can sensitize children, and that hypersensitivity toThimerosal is due to the throsaticylic part of the molecule and correlates with photosensitivity to piroxicam.
Controlled Enzymatic Treatment of Wheat Proteins for Production of Hypoallergenic Flour
- Michiko Watanabe, S. Takashi, Z. Ikezawa, S. Arai
- Chemistry
- 23 February 1994
Both salt-soluble and salt-insoluble fractions of wheat flour have allergenicity, but their treatment with actinase, collagenase, and transglutaminase produced hypoallergenic flour. In detail, hard…
The necessity for dual food intake to provoke food-dependent exercise-induced anaphylaxis (FEIAn): a case report of FEIAn with simultaneous intake of wheat and umeboshi.
- Y. Aihara, T. Kotoyori, Y. Takahashi, H. Osuna, S. Ohnuma, Z. Ikezawa
- MedicineJournal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology
- 1 June 2001
This is the first report of FEIAn provoked by the test with a simultaneous intake of 2 kinds of food, and a synergistic effect on in vitro histamine release testing with 2 types of the causative foods was shown.
Effect of IL-12 encoding plasmid administration on tight-skin mouse.
- J. Tsuji-Yamada, M. Nakazawa, T. Sasaki
- BiologyBiochemical and Biophysical Research…
- 26 January 2001
Results indicate that pCAGGSIL-12 administration into Tsk/+ mice had beneficial effects in preventing the collagen accumulation in the skin and suppressing the autoimmunity via improvement of Th1/Th2 balance.
