Phosphodiesterase-4D Knock-Out and RNA Interference-Mediated Knock-Down Enhance Memory and Increase Hippocampal Neurogenesis via Increased cAMP Signaling
TLDR
The present results suggest that PDE 4D, in particular long-form PDE4D, plays a critical role in the mediation of memory and hippocampal neurogenesis, which are mediated by cAMP/CREB signaling; reduced expression of PDE2D, or at least PDE3D4 and PDE5, in the hippocampus enhances memory but appears not to cause emesis.
Anxiolytic Effects of Flavonoids in Animal Models of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
TLDR
The present study aims to examine the effect of flavonoids in alleviating the enhanced anxiety and fear response induced in two PTSD animal models and assess the changes of brain monoaminergic neurotransmitters after chronic flavonoid administration.
Antidepressant- and anxiolytic-like effects of the phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) inhibitor rolipram on behavior depend on cyclic AMP-response element binding protein (CREB)-mediated neurogenesis in the
TLDR
The results suggest that rolipram produces its effects on behavior in a manner that at least partially depends on its neurogenic action in the hippocampus, targeting mitotic progenitor cells rather than newborn or mature neurons.
Inhibition of phosphodiesterase-4 reverses memory deficits produced by Aβ25–35 or Aβ1–40 peptide in rats
TLDR
Results suggest that the PDE 4 inhibitor rolipram reverses cognitive deficits associated with AD most likely via increased cAMP/CREB signaling in the hippocampus; PDE4 could be a target for drugs that improve cognition in AD.
Anxiolytic-like effects of YL-IPA08, a potent ligand for the translocator protein (18 kDa) in animal models of post-traumatic stress disorder.
TLDR
The findings from the current study showed that YL-IPA08, a potent and selective TSPO ligand, had a clear anti-PTSD-like effect, which might be partially mediated by binding to T SPO and the subsequent synthesis of allopregnanolone.
Midazolam Ameliorates the Behavior Deficits of a Rat Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Model through Dual 18 kDa Translocator Protein and Central Benzodiazepine Receptor and Neurosteroidogenesis
TLDR
It is demonstrated that midazolam improves the behavioral deficits in the SPS model through dual TSPO and CBR and neurosteroidogenesis.
The nuclear factor-κB pathway is involved in matrix metalloproteinase-9 expression in RU486-induced endometrium breakdown in mice.
TLDR
The activation of the NF-κB pathway induces downstream target genes, including MMP9 from stromal cells to facilitate tissue breakdown in mouse uterus, highlighting the likelihood that this regulatory pattern exists in the human endometrium.
Cytoprotective effect is one of common action pathways for antidepressants.
AIM To explore the possible common action mechanism of antidepressants. METHODS The cell viability was detected by MTT assay. The intracellular Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i) was measured by Fura
