Genomic, physiologic, and proteomic insights into metabolic versatility in Roseobacter clade bacteria isolated from deep-sea water
TLDR
The genome sequences showed that the two deep-sea roseobacters carry genes for versatile metabolisms with functional capabilities such as ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase-mediated carbon fixation and inorganic sulfur oxidation and a high metabolic flexibility, suggesting a considerable capacity for adaptation to the marine environment.
Ponticoccus lacteus sp. nov. of the family Rhodobacteraceae, isolated from surface seawater.
TLDR
Based on phenotypic, phylogenetic and genotypic data, strain JL351(T) is considered to represent a novel species in the genus Ponticoccus, for which the name Pontioccus lacteus sp.
Genomic, proteomic and bioinformatic analysis of two temperate phages in Roseobacter clade bacteria isolated from the deep-sea water
TLDR
This study is the first report on the complete genome sequences of temperate phages that infect deep-sea roseobacters, belonging to the Mu-like head phage group, which might represent a small but ubiquitous fraction of marine viral diversity.
