The novel JEV RT-NASBA assay could be used as an efficient molecular biology tool to diagnose JEV, which would facilitate the surveillance of reproductive failure disease in swine and would be beneficial for public health security. Expand
Evaluation of recombinant proteins of Haemophilus parasuis strain SH0165 as vaccine candidates in a mouse model.
The results indicated that the three OMPs showed protection both individually and synergistically against infection with the highly virulent H. parasuis in mice. Expand
Epidemiological and genetic characteristics of swine pseudorabies virus in mainland China between 2012 and 2017
Phylogenetic analysis based on gB, gC, and gE showed that PRV strains prevalent in China had a remarkably distinct evolutionary relationship with PRVs from other countries, which might explain the observation that Bartha-K61 vaccine was unable to provide full protection against emergent strains. A one-step RT-PCR assay to detect and discriminate porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome viruses in clinical specimens.
A one-step RT-PCR assay can detect the virus 2 days prior the onset of symptoms and it can be performed in 2h, thereby providing a rapid method to discriminate HP-PRRSV from C-PR RSV for the identification and prevention of PRRSV infections. Expand
Deletion of the znuA virulence factor attenuates Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and confers protection against homologous or heterologous strain challenge.
The data obtained in this study indicate the potential of the mutant ΔznuA strain for development as a live vaccine capable of inducing reliable cross-serovar protection following intratracheal immunisation. Expand
Effects of heavy metal pollution on microbial communities and activities of mining soils in Central Tibet, China
Results indicated that compared to the control, soils in Sites 1-4 were polluted by heavy metals, resulting in decrease in culturable number of bacteria, actinomyces, ammonifying bacteria, nitrobacteria and cellulolytic bacteria, and MBC contents, but increase in basal respiration and qCO 2 . Surface proteins mhp390 (P68) contributes to cilium adherence and mediates inflammation and apoptosis in Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.
This present study explores the pathogenicity of mhp390 (P68, a membrane-associated lipoprotein) by elucidating its multiple functions and reports the first report of the multiple functions of M. hyopneumoniae mHP390, which may supplement known virulence genes and further develop the understanding of the pathogenicicity. Expand
Development of a multiplex PCR to detect and discriminate porcine circoviruses in clinical specimens
The multiplex PCR assay could be used as a differential diagnostic tool for monitoring and control of PCVs in the field and indicates that the PCVs infection and their co-infection are severe in Hubei province, Central China. Expand
MnmE, a Central tRNA-Modifying GTPase, Is Essential for the Growth, Pathogenicity, and Arginine Metabolism of Streptococcus suis Serotype 2
It is proposed that MnmE, by its function as a central tRNA-modifying GTPase, is essential for cell growth, pathogenicity, as well as arginine metabolism of S. suis. Expand

This is the first report to describe a real-time RT-PCR assay capable of detecting PRRSV in crude serum samples without the requirement for purifying RNA, and has a great potential for application to other RNA viruses. Expand
