We report a packaged 1times2 fiber-optic switch based on electro-optic beam scanning. The resulting optical switch exhibits an insertion loss of less than 4 dB and a rise time of 187 nsec at 1310 nm
We report the design of two electro-optic deflectors. The half-horn and parabola shaped EO scanners provide deflection angles of 2.5°and 3.22° degrees. These are the largest angles reported to date for bulk effect EO scanners.
We report a packaged ultra-fast 1/spl times/4 fiber-optic switch obtained by cascading two electro-optic scanners. The resulting switch exhibits a fiber-to-fiber insertion loss of 3.2 dB and rise and fall times of 46 ns and 8 ns, respectively.

We present new EO deflectors based on half-horn and parabolic geometries. Experimentally measured deflection angles of 3.1deg and 3.0deg, respectively are reported. Non-blocking 2times2 optical switch concepts based on these EO deflectors are presented
