Image enhancement and denoising by complex diffusion processes
- Guy Gilboa, N. Sochen, Y. Zeevi
- MathematicsIEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine…
- 1 August 2004
It is proved that the imaginary part is a smoothed second derivative, scaled by time, when the complex diffusion coefficient approaches the real axis, and developed two examples of nonlinear complex processes, useful in image processing.
The farthest point strategy for progressive image sampling
- Y. Eldar, M. Lindenbaum, M. Porat, Y. Zeevi
- Computer ScienceProceedings of the 12th IAPR International…
- 9 October 1994
A new method of "farthest point strategy" (FPS) for progressive image acquisition is presented, retaining its uniformity with the increased density, providing an efficient means for sparse image sampling and display.
Forward-and-backward diffusion processes for adaptive image enhancement and denoising
- Guy Gilboa, N. Sochen, Y. Zeevi
- MathematicsIEEE Transactions on Image Processing
- 1 July 2002
The proposed structure tensor is neither positive definite nor negative, and switches between these states according to image features, resulting in a forward-and-backward diffusion flow where different regions of the image are either forward or backward diffused according to the local geometry within a neighborhood.
Integrated active contours for texture segmentation
This work addresses the issue of textured image segmentation in the context of the Gabor feature space of images and shows that combining boundary and region information yields more robust and accurate texture segmentation results.
Analysis of Multiwindow Gabor-Type Schemes by Frame Methods☆
- M. Zibulski, Y. Zeevi
- Computer Science
- 1 April 1997
It is shown that the properties of the sequence of representation functions are essentially not changed by replacing the widely used exponential kernel with other kernels, which makes it possible to overcome in a way the constraint imposed by the original theorem in the case of a single window.
Texture Preserving Variational Denoising Using an Adaptive Fidelity Term
- Guy Gilboa, Y. Zeevi, N. Sochen
- Computer Science
- 2003
This work proposes a mechanism that better preserves fine scale features in Denoising processes by adding a spatially varying fidelity term that locally controls the extent of denoising over image regions according to their content.
The Generalized Gabor Scheme of Image Representation in Biological and Machine Vision
It is shown that there exists a tradeoff between the number of frequency components used per position and thenumber of such clusters (sampling rate) utilized along the spatial coordinate.
Variational denoising of partly textured images by spatially varying constraints
- Guy Gilboa, N. Sochen, Y. Zeevi
- Computer ScienceIEEE Transactions on Image Processing
- 1 August 2006
This work proposes a mechanism that better preserves fine scale features in denoising processes in partial differential equation-based image processing and computer vision and shows visual improvement as well as an increase in the signal-to-noise ratio over scalar fidelity term processes.
Regularized Shock Filters and Complex Diffusion
- Guy Gilboa, N. Sochen, Y. Zeevi
- MathematicsEuropean Conference on Computer Vision
- 28 May 2002
This work addresses the issue of regularizing Osher and Rudin's shock filter, used for image deblurring, and proposes an original solution of adding a complex diffusion term to the shock equation to smooth out noise and indicate inflection points simultaneously.
Sparse ICA for blind separation of transmitted and reflected images
- A. Bronstein, M. Bronstein, M. Zibulevsky, Y. Zeevi
- Computer ScienceInternational journal of imaging systems and…
- 2005
The sparse ICA (SPICA) technique is extended and applied to the problem of separating the image of the scene without having any a priori knowledge about its structure or statistics and results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed methods.
