- C. BoycePeter, Y. W. Sin
- Biology
- 2008
Four new species of Homalomena (Araceae : Homalomeneae) are described from Sarawak and reasons for not recognizing formal supraspecific units are justified although the need for species groupings is restated.
Molecular phylogeny of tribe Schismatoglottideae (Araceae) based on two plastid markers and recognition of a new tribe, Philonotieae, from the neotropics
- Y. W. Sin, Y. W. Sin, P. Boyce, S. OthmanAhmad, C. Leaw
- Biology
- 1 February 2010
A combined molecular phylogenetic analysis of matK, the 3′ portion of the trnK intron, and trnL-F sequence data was carried out on 77 taxa representing all genera in the tribe, all informal groups in Schismatoglottis, together with sister tribe Cryptocoryneae, and outgroups from Araceae.
The Role of the interstice staminodes of Bucephalandra Schott (Araceae : Schismatoglottideae)
Fieldwork in various parts of Borneo has now conclusively shown that the motile staminodes of the Bucephalandra Schott are not part of the pollination mechanics but, rather, are implicated in…
The fruits of Bakoa nakamotoi
The infructescences and fruits of Bakoa nakamotoi S.Y. Wong are described and illustrated for the first time. The fruits are shown to be dehiscent berries, the
first such recorded example for the…
Studies on Schismatoglottideae (Araceae) of Borneo XVIII: Additional observations on Schottariella mirifica
Based on recent fieldwork, expanded ecological information, and new morphological data is presented, including descriptions and illustrations of the previously unknown mature infructescence of Schottariella mirifica.
The Araceae of Malesia III: Bakoa
Three species of Bakoa are recognized, of which one (B. nakanotoi S.Y.Wong) is described as new to science, and a key to species is provided and all species are illustrated.

- Y. W. Sin
- Biology
- 2013
Bakoa sicula S.Y.Wong, is described and illustrated from Cretaceous granites of Kalimantan Barat, Indonesian Borneo. A key to the four described Bakoa species is provided.

Schismatoglottis evelyniae P.C.Boyce &
S.Y.Wong is described as a taxonomically
new species in the Tecturata Group,
morphologically most similar to
Schismatoglottis platystigma M.Hotta and S. …
Studies on Schismatoglottideae (Araceae) of Borneo III: Schismatoglottis confinis, a Putative Sister Taxon to Schismatoglottis bauensis from Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo
- Y. W. Sin, C. BoycePeter
- Biology
- 2008
Schismatoglottis confinis S. Boyce is described and illustrated as a new species related to S. bauensis together with a key to separate the two species.
The Araceae of Malesia IV: Hestia
A review of menospecific Hestia S.Y.Wong & P.C.Boyce is presented. The morphological adaptations it shows to a fire-prone habitat are highlighted.
