The Sixth Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
- J. Adelman-McCarthy, M. Agüeros, D. Zucker
- Physics
- 23 July 2007
This paper describes the Sixth Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. With this data release, the imaging of the northern Galactic cap is now complete. The survey contains images and…
Triaxial Modeling of Halo Density Profiles with High-Resolution N-Body Simulations
We present a detailed nonspherical modeling of dark matter halos on the basis of a combined analysis of high-resolution halo simulations (12 halos with N ~ 106 particles within their virial radius)…
The Luminosity and Color Dependence of the Galaxy Correlation Function
The HOD model fits nicely explain the color dependence of wp(rp) and the cross correlation between red and blue galaxies, and a conditional luminosity function (at fixed halo mass) in which central galaxies lie far above a Schechter function extrapolation of the satellite population.
Semi-analytic predictions for statistical properties of X-ray clusters of galaxies in cold dark matter universes
- T. Kitayama, Y. Suto
- Physics
- 25 April 1996
Temperature and luminosity functions of X-ray clusters are computed semi-analytically, combining a simple model for the cluster gas properties with the distribution functions of halo formation epochs…
The Transit Light Curve Project. V. System Parameters and Stellar Rotation Period of HD 189733
We present photometry of HD 189733 during eight transits of its close-in giant planet, and out-of-transit photometry spanning 2 yr. Using the transit photometry, we determine the stellar and…
The Density Profiles of the Dark Matter Halo Are Not Universal
It is concluded that the dark matter density profiles, especially in the inner region, are not universal, because of the mass dependence of the inner slope with the primordial index of the fluctuation spectrum.
Second data release of the Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program
- H. Aihara, Y. AlSayyad, Y. Yamada
- PhysicsNippon Tenmon Gakkai obun kenkyu hokoku
- 29 May 2019
This paper presents the second data release of the Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program, a wide-field optical imaging survey on the 8.2 meter Subaru Telescope, including a major update to the processing pipeline, including improved sky subtraction, PSF modeling, object detection, and artifact rejection.
A gravitationally lensed quasar with quadruple images separated by 14.62 arcseconds
The discovery of a lensed quasar, SDSS J1004 + 4112, which has a maximum separation between the components of 14.62 arcsec is reported, fully consistent with theoretical expectations based on the cold-dark-matter model.
Strong Gravitational Lensing and Velocity Function as Tools to Probe Cosmological Parameters.
- Takahiro T. Nakamura, Y. Suto
- Physics
- 7 December 1996
Constraints on cosmological models from strong gravitational lensing statistics are in vestigated. We pay particular attention to the role of the velocity function in the calculation of the lensing…
Measurement of the Spin-Orbit Alignment in the Exoplanetary System HD 189733
- J. Winn, J. Johnson, E. Turner
- Physics, Geology
- 18 September 2006
We present spectroscopy of a transit of the exoplanet HD 189733b. By modeling the Rossiter-McLaughlin effect (the anomalous Doppler shift due to the partial eclipse of the rotating stellar surface),…
