Probiotic characteristics of lactic acid bacteria isolated from kimchi
The present work was aimed at identifying strains of lactic acid bacteria from kimchi with properties suitable for use as starter cultures in yogurt fermentation, and found several strains with these properties.
Effect of Lactobacillus acidophilus KFRI342 on the development of chemically induced precancerous growths in the rat colon.
In vivo studies indicate that L. acidophilus from kimchi may be suitable as a probiotic for human use and showed potential probiotic activity as an inhibitor of DMH-induced symptoms in live rats.
Green Chemistry Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles and Their Potential Anticancer Effects
This review summarized the recent progress and achievements in biogenic AgNPs synthesis and their potential uses as anticancer agents.
Composition and Properties of Aquafaba: Water Recovered from Commercially Canned Chickpeas.
Proton NMR was used to characterize aquafaba composition before and after ultrafiltration through membranes with different molecular weight cut offs (MWCOs of 3, 10, or 50 kDa), and a protocol for electrophoresis, and peptide mass fingerprinting provided valuable information regarding components responsible for aquAFaba functional properties.
New method development for nanoparticle extraction of water-soluble beta-(1-->3)-D-glucan from edible mushrooms, Sparassis crispa and Phellinus linteus.
The extracted Sparan with beta-(1-->3) linkages showed a remarkably high water solubility of 90% even after 10 min of incubation at room temperature, suggesting that this nanoknife method could be used to produce beta-D-glucan for food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries.
