Preliminary criteria for classification of adult Still's disease.
We have attempted to design classification criteria for adult Still's disease by analyzing the data obtained through a multicenter survey of 90 Japanese patients with this disease and of 267 control…
Drusen, choroidal neovascularization, and retinal pigment epithelium dysfunction in SOD1-deficient mice: a model of age-related macular degeneration.
It is shown that mice deficient in Cu, Zn-superoxide dismutase (SOD1) have features typical of age-related macular degeneration in humans, and these findings provide evidence for the free radical theory of aging.
Interaction of anti‐inflammatory drugs with serum proteins, especially with some biologically active proteins
Phenylbutazone and sodium salicylate do not inhibit the biological activity of three biologically active and labile serum proteins, namely, necrotizing factor, heterogenous serum and complement, however, they do influence the effect of heat on these proteins.

It is demonstrated that there is increased SNHL in patients with RA, which may result from systemic inflammation and tissue injury, and increased latent-type CHL caused by stiffness of the middle ear system whose mechanisms are not yet clear.
Excessive function of peripheral blood neutrophils from patients with Behçet's disease and from HLA-B51 transgenic mice.
The HLA-B51 molecule itself may be responsible, at least in part, for neutrophil hyperfunction in Behçet's disease.
Drug Delivery to the Cochlea Using PLGA Nanoparticles
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of encapsulating therapeutic molecules in poly lactic/glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles for drug delivery to the cochlea.
Tissue distribution and anti-inflammatory activity of corticosteroids incorporated in lipid emulsion.
Results may indicate that corticosteroids which are incorporated in lipid emulsions are taken up by the reticuloendothelial system and some inflammatory cells much more than are free cortiosteroids; thus they have a stronger anti-inflammatory activity.

It is indicated that constitutive expression of IL-6 receptors on B cells in conjunction with spontaneous IL- 6 production by B cells induces autocrine B cell activation, which may lead to B cell hyperactivity and autoantibody secretion in SLE patients.
