More severe toxicity of gold nanoparticles with rougher surface in mouse hippocampal neurons
The results indicated that GNPs inhibited the amplitudes of voltage-gated sodium current (INa) and led to a hyperpolarizing shift in the voltage-dependence curve of both activation and inactivation of INa, suggesting that the neurotoxicity of gold nanoparticles is surface roughness-dependent.

The cDNA microarray method was used to investigate the differential expression of genes in C. albicans in the presence and absence of BDSF and showed that the repressors (Ubi4 and Sfl1 proteins) and the activator of filamentous growth are involved in the BDSF regulation of hyphal morphogenesis.
