Revision of the Massarineae (Pleosporales, Dothideomycetes)
Ten new genera, 22 new species, and seven new combinations are described and illustrated, and the morphological and ecological features are summarised, and clarified the accepted members of each family.
A class-wide phylogenetic assessment of Dothideomycetes
A genomic comparison of 6 dothideomycete genomes with other fungi finds a high level of unique protein associated with the class, supporting its delineation as a separate taxon.
Molecular taxonomy of bambusicolous fungi: Tetraplosphaeriaceae, a new pleosporalean family with Tetraploa-like anamorphs
Monophyly of the family and that of each genus were strongly supported by analyses based on a combined dataset of the three regions (ITS+TEF+BT), and results suggest that Tetraplosphaeria (anamorph: tetraploa s. l. str.) is an ancestral lineage within this family.
Taxonomic revision of Pseudolachnea and Pseudolachnella and establishment of Neopseudolachnella and Pseudodinemasporium gen. nov.
It was concluded that differences observed in the conidiomatal structure, such as thickness of basal stroma and the excipulum, were more reliable for their circumscription, instead of conidial septation.
Host jumping onto close relatives and across kingdoms by Tyrannicordyceps (Clavicipitaceae) gen. nov. and Ustilaginoidea_(Clavicipitaceae).
The host habitat hypothesis best explains the dynamic evolution of host affiliations seen in Clavicipitaceae and throughout Hypocreales.
Pleosporales in Japan (1): the genus Lophiostoma
Lophiostoma mucosum is described and illustrated as a new species and reported for the first time in Japan.
Diplocarpon mali, sp. nov., the Perfect State of Apple Blotch Fungus Marssonina coronaria
Morphological characters and host plants of the present fungus are distinct from those of the species known hitherto in this genus, hence Diplocarpon mali Y. Sawamura, sp.
Isolation and Properties of Two Antifungal Substances from Fusarium solani
An antagonistic fungus to Valsa ceratosperma was isolated from soil, and identified as Fusarium solani. The fungus was found to produce at least two antifungal substances in stationary culture. These
Pleosporales in Japan (3). The genus Massarina
One bambusicolous species, Metasphaeria tuberculosa, is considered to be a synonym of Massarina bambUSina.
Pleosporales in Japan (2): the genus Lophiotrema
Abstract Five species of the genus Lophiotrema are reported in this article. Of these, Lophiotrema vitigenum is described and illustrated as a new species. Three species, L. nucula, L.
