Epstein-Barr virus-encoded miR-BART6-3p inhibits cancer cell metastasis and invasion by targeting long non-coding RNA LOC553103
TLDR
This study determined that EBV-miR-BART6-3p, a microRNA encoded by oncogenic EBV, inhibitedEBV-associated cancer cell migration and invasion by targeting and downregulating a novel lncRNA LOC553103.
miRNA-195 sensitizes human hepatocellular carcinoma cells to 5-FU by targeting BCL-w.
TLDR
Results indicate that miR-195 could improve the drug sensitivity at least in part by targeting Bcl-w to increase cell apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma cells.
Pro-oncogene Pokemon promotes breast cancer progression by upregulating survivin expression
TLDR
Pokemon promotes breast cancer progression by upregulating survivin expression and thus may be a potential target for the treatment of this malignancy.
A Large‐Scale Multicenter Study Validates Aldo‐Keto Reductase Family 1 Member B10 as a Prevalent Serum Marker for Detection of Hepatocellular Carcinoma
TLDR
Serum AKR1B10 dramatically decreased 1 day after operation and was nearly back to normal 3 days after operation, demonstrating promising diagnostic potential in early‐stage HCC and AFP‐negative HCC.
Aldo–keto reductase family 1 B10 gene silencing results in growth inhibition of colorectal cancer cells: Implication for cancer intervention
TLDR
The results suggest that AKR1B10 may regulate cell proliferation and cellular response to additional carbonyl stress, thus being a potential target for cancer intervention.

TLDR
Small interfering RNA-mediated AKR1B10 knock down increased ACCA degradation through ubiquitination-proteasome pathway and resulted in >50% decrease of fatty acid synthesis in RAO-3 cells, suggesting that AKR 1B10 is a novel regulator of the biosynthesis of fatty acids, an essential component of the cell membrane, in breast cancer cells.
MicroRNA-32 promotes calcification in vascular smooth muscle cells: Implications as a novel marker for coronary artery calcification
TLDR
MiR-32 was identified as a critical modulator and potential diagnostic marker for CAC and promoted promotion of VSMC calcification in mice through the enhanced expression of bonemorphogenetic protein-2, runt-related transcription factor-2(RUNX2), osteopontin, and the bone-specific phosphoprotein matrix GLA protein in vitro.
Survivin transcription is associated with P-glycoprotein/MDR1 overexpression in the multidrug resistance of MCF-7 breast cancer cells.
TLDR
This study shows survivin transcription was associated with P-glycoprotein/MDR1 overexpression, PI3k/Akt pathway was involved in P- Glycop protein/ MDR1 associated survivin transcript activity in the multidrug resistant MCF-7 breast cancer cells.
