Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has emerged as an alternative and promising noninvasive treatment for cancer as well as non-cancer diseases, which involves the uptake of photosensitizers (PSs) by cancer cells followed by irradiation. The use of nanomaterials as carriers of PSs is a very promising approach to improve the development of PDT in clinical medicine.(More)
Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) maintain the intrinsic layered structural motif of graphene but with smaller lateral size and abundant periphery carboxylic groups, and are more compatible with biological system, thus are promising nanomaterials for therapeutic applications. Here we show that GQDs have a superb ability in drug delivery and anti-cancer activity(More)
Due to the high peroxidase-like activity and small lateral size of graphene quantum dots (GQDs), the covalently assembled GQDs/Au electrode exhibits great performance and stability in H(2)O(2) detection. It is better or comparable to some enzyme-immobilized electrodes, and thus could be useful in sensing H(2)O(2) changes in biological systems.
Investigation into the interactions between graphene oxide (GO) and biomolecules is very important for broad applications of GO in bioassay and bioanalysis. In this work, we describe the interactions between double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) and GO. We demonstrated that dsDNA can bind to GO forming complexes (dsDNA/GO) in the presence of certain salts, which(More)
Defect bash is a co-located testing session performed by a group of people. We performed a systematic review of the academic and grey literature, i.e. informally published writings, of the defect bash. Altogether, we found 44 items (17 academic and 27 grey literature sources) that were identified useful for the review. Based on the review the definition of(More)
