This work evaluates the taxonomic status of a rare Southeast Asian serpent, the Rainbow Tree Snake Gonyophis margaritatus (Squamata: Colubridae), by inferring a molecular phylogeny of 101 snake species and discusses three potential solutions towards eliminating polyphyly of the genus Rhadinophis.
