Assessment of the genetic diversity and population structure of Dendrobium officinale found moderate variation between pairs of populations, and three main clusters were shown in UPGMA dendrogram using TFPGA, consistent with the result of principal coordinate ananlysis (PCO) using NTSYS.
Genetic diversity and population structure of an endangered Orchid (Dendrobium loddigesii Rolfe) from China revealed by SRAP markers
Differentiation of Dendrobium species used as "Huangcao Shihu" by rDNA ITS sequence analysis.
Based on the divergent ITS regions, five pairs of species-specific primers were designed and used for the rapid PCR identification of five Dendrobium species listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and could be easily distinguished at the DNA level.
The Complete Plastome Sequences of Four Orchid Species: Insights into the Evolution of the Orchidaceae and the Utility of Plastomic Mutational Hotspots

Orchidaceae (orchids) is the largest family in the monocots, including about 25,000 species in 880 genera and five subfamilies. Many orchids are highly valued for their beautiful and long-lasting…
Intersimple sequence repeats (ISSR) molecular fingerprinting markers for authenticating populations of Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo.
Intersimple sequence repeats (ISSR) molecular fingerprinting markers have been employed to authenticate eight populations of Dendrobium officinale using 10 primers selected from 76 ISSR primers. A…
Molecular authentication of Alisma orientale by PCR-RFLP and ARMS.
The internal transcribed spacer regions of nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) of the six species of genus Alisma were sequenced, and two variant sites were found to be specific for A. orientale.
Comparative Chloroplast Genomes of Photosynthetic Orchids: Insights into Evolution of the Orchidaceae and Development of Molecular Markers for Phylogenetic Applications
The complete chloroplast genomes of the medicinal plant Dendrobium officinale and the ornamental orchid Cypripedium macranthos are reported, demonstrating their gene content and order and potential RNA editing sites, and fifteen highly divergent protein-coding genes were identified, which are useful for phylogenetic analyses in orchids.
SNP, ARMS and SSH authentication of medicinal Dendrobium officinale KIMURA et MIGO and application for identification of Fengdou drugs.

It is evident that the combined methods provide a high throughput and reliable approach for identification of D. officinale plants and "Fengdou" drugs.
Isolation and characterization of microsatellite markers in Dendrobium officinale, an endangered herb endemic to China
These are the first microsatellite loci characterized from D. officinale that will contribute to research on the conservation, genetic diversity, population structure and individual authentication.
