A novel aerobic bacterium, designated strain LAM0705T, was isolated from the rhizosphere of Populus alba in the Peking University Third Hospital. Cells of strain LAM0705T were observed to be Gram-stain positive, motile, spore-forming and rod-shaped. The optimal temperature and pH for growth were found to be 30 °C and pH 7.5, respectively. Strain LAM0705T(More)
BACKGROUND Endometriosis affects natural fertility through various approaches, and in vitro fertilization (IVF) is a good treatment. But the IVF result of endometriosis patients is still under debate. We investigated the effect of endometriosis on IVF by analyzing the data from a single reproductive center. METHODS A retrospective, database-searched(More)
BACKGROUND Frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) is the most common way to prevent serious late ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and increase the cumulative pregnancy rate. We evaluated the effectiveness of an FET program for improving the embryo implantation and clinical pregnancy rates, and ultimate embryo utilization rate in infertility treatment. (More)
BACKGROUND Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is one of the most life-threatening complications of assisted reproduction treatments. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonists (GnRHanta) are thought to be effective in preventing this complication, and some clinical trials have found lower incidences of OHSS in patients treated with GnRHanta. Our aim(More)
OBJECTIVE To investigate S100P expression and localization in human endometrium throughout the menstrual cycle. DESIGN Experimental study. SETTING University hospital. PATIENT(S) Eighty-four women. INTERVENTION(S) Complementary DNA (cDNA) microarray analysis was performed on human endometrium from days LH+4, LH+7, and hCG+7. Reverse(More)
Using PCR amplification, sequencing and assembling, we obtained the complete mitochondrial genome of Tibetan chicken. The complete mitochondrial genome was 16 783 bp in length. It contained 37 genes (13 protein coding genes, 2 rRNA, 22 tRNA) and a control region. The deduced restriction map revealed a unique pattern of Dra I restriction in Tibetan chicken.(More)
OBJECTIVE To understand the co-infection status of HIV and intestinal parasites in a HIV/AIDS highly endemic area in China. METHODS A cross-sectional survey was carried out in two villages in Fuyang City, Anhui Province, and the infection status of HIV and intestinal parasites were investigated by blood and fecal examinations. RESULTS A total 769(More)
BACKGROUND With the progress of perinatal medicine and neonatal technology, more and more extremely low birth weight (ELBW) survived all over the world. This study was designed to investigate the short-term outcomes of ELBW infants during their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) stay in the mainland of China. METHODS All infants admitted to 26 NICUs with(More)
OBJECTIVE To assess the efficacy of nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) in treatment of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in premature infants. METHODS According to the requirements of Cochrane systematic review, a thorough literature search was performed among PubMed (1977-2008), Embase (1989-2008), OVID, Cochrane (2008), Chinese(More)
BACKGROUND The regulation of endometrial physiology and morphogenesis by the paracrine effectors has been well established using in vivo studies. A more complete understanding of the endometrial function has been delayed due, in part, to a lack of appropriate culture models. In this study, we aimed to simulate the in vivo three-dimensional (3-D) growth(More)
