The Early Cambrian origin of thylacocephalan arthropods
Zhenghecaris shankouensis gen. et sp. nov. is one of the largest “bivalved” arthropods of the Lower Cambrian Maotianshan Shale fauna. Its non−mineralized carapace was dome−like, laterally compressed,
Variation of microfibril angle and density in moso bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens).
The analysis of variance indicated that age, height location as well as horizontal layer had significant effects on MFA, and the air-dry density increased substantially during the initial four years of growth but was almost constant at older ages.
Development, longevity and parasitization of white fly parasitoid, Encarsia tricolor Forster (Hym., Aphelinidae), at different temperatures
Development, longevity and parasitization of the white fly parasitoid, E. tricolor at different temperatures in order to collect information for using it against A. proletella in biological control programmes showed that mean duration of development from egg to adult of E. Tricolor was significantly longer at 18 °C with an average of 34.0 days than at 26 °C, while longevity of the female was significantly shorter.
Biotransformation of monochloroanilines in guppy, Poecilia reticulata.
This study proves, for the first time, that the acetylation reaction in fish is reversible and quantitative differences in the net deacetylation of monochloroacetanilides were observed.
