Tintinnids are planktonic ciliates that play an important role in marine ecosystem. According to their distribution in the world oceans, tintinnid genera were divided into several biogeographical types such as boreal, warm water, austral and neritic. Therefore, the oceanic tintinnid assemblage could be correspondingly divided into boreal assemblage, warm(More)
The purpose of the present study was to study the impacts of eplerenone (EPL), an antagonist of mineralocorticoid receptors (MR), on atrial fibrosis in a mouse model with selective fibrosis in the atrium, and to explore the possible mechanisms. Using mutant TGF-β1 transgenic (Tx) mice, we first demonstrated that EPL inhibited atrial fibrosis specifically(More)
Information of tintinnid community, as an important component of plankton, was limited in Kongsfjorden, Svalbard (Arctic), which is an important Arctic monitoring site for global change. In this paper, we studied the species composition, spatial, and vertical distribution of tintinnids in Kongsfjorden in July 2012. Water samples for tintinnid study were(More)
Changes in elemental content in response to muscarinic drugs in HT29 cells were investigated by X-ray microanalysis. Acetylcholine (ACh) and carbachol (Cch), both agonists binding to muscarinic receptors, induced a decrease of the intracellular Cl and K content. This agrees with the notion that these agonists induce electrolyte and water secretion.(More)
