The Coturnix quail is recommended to interested investigators, especially to embryologists and physiologists, for use in research because of its hardiness, ease of handling, precociousness, and great laying ability.
Two-hundred broiler-type chickens were reared under either normal lighting or darkness for 16 weeks.
