Ultrafast hydration dynamics in the lipidic cubic phase: Discrete water structures in nanochannels.
Study of hydration dynamics of confined water in aqueous nanochannels of the lipidic cubic phase by systematically anchoring the hydrocarbon tails of a series of tryptophan-alkyl ester probes reveals unique water structures and dynamical motions in nanoconfinements, critical to the understanding of nanoscopic biological activities and nanomaterial properties.
Dissection of complex protein dynamics in human thioredoxin
The direct study of complex protein dynamics in human thioredoxin is reported, elucidate the temporal evolution of hydrating water motions, electron-transfer reactions, and local protein fluctuations at the active site, and show continuously synergistic dynamics of biological function over wide time scales.
Reactions of Alkaline Earth Metal Ions with Methanol Clusters
The gas phase reactions between singly charged alkaline earth metal ions (Mg+, Ca+, Sr+ and Ba+) and methanol clusters are studied in a pick-up cluster source. In much the same way as for the alkal...
Photodissociation spectroscopy of Zn+(C2H4)
We have investigated the spectroscopy and photochemistry of Zn+(C2H4) in an angular reflectron time-of-flight mass spectrometer. We identify four absorption bands in the spectral range 220–550 nm.
Bond-forming reactions of molecular dications with rare gas atoms: Production of ArC2+ in the reaction CO2++Ar
Integral cross sections for the bond-forming reaction CO2++Ar→ArC2++O have been measured as a function of collision energy in a guided-ion beam mass spectrometer. The energy dependence is consistent
Photodissociation Spectroscopy of Zn+−Formaldehyde
We report on a combined experimental and theoretical study of the photodissociation spectroscopy and chemical dynamics of Zn+−formaldehyde. We identify two overlapping absorption bands correspondin...
Reactions of Lanthanide Cations with Methanol Clusters
Reactions between lanthanide cations (from La+ to Lu+ except Pm+) and methanol clusters were studied in a pick-up source, and the product ions were analyzed using a reflectron time-of-flight mass
