Zbtb20 is essential for the specification of CA1 field identity in the developing hippocampus
It is found that Zbtb20 expression was initially activated in the hippocampal anlage at the onset of corticogenesis, and persisted in immature hippocampal neurons, and the field identities of the mutant CA3 and dentate gyrus were largely maintained, but their projections were severely impaired. Novel heat shock protein Hsp70L1 activates dendritic cells and acts as a Th1 polarizing adjuvant.
The ability of Hsp70L1 to activate DCs indicates its potential as a novel adjuvant for use with peptide immunizations; the Hsp 70L1 antigen peptide hybrid may serve as a more effective vaccine for the control of cancer and infectious diseases. Expand
MicroRNA122 is a key regulator of α-fetoprotein expression and influences the aggressiveness of hepatocellular carcinoma.
It is shown that deregulation of microRNA122, a liver-specific microRNA, is a cause of both AFP elevation and a more biologically aggressive phenotype in HCC patients, and that serum AFP levels in H CC patients may be a surrogate marker for deregulated intracellular micro RNA122 signalling pathways in Hcc tissues. Zinc finger protein ZBTB20 is a key repressor of alpha-fetoprotein gene transcription in liver
The data point to ZBTB20 as a key regulator governing AFP gene transcription and postulate a new model for the postnatal gene repression of AFP in liver. Expand
Molecular Cloning and Characterization of a Novel CXC Chemokine Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-2γ Chemoattractant for Human Neutrophils and Dendritic Cells1
The identification and characterization of a novel CXC chemokine from a human dendritic cell (DC) cDNA library, the full-length cDNA of which contains an open reading frame encoding 111 aa with a putative signal peptide of 34 aa is described, which is designated as MIP-2γ. Expand
Cloning and functional characterization of ACAD-9, a novel member of human acyl-CoA dehydrogenase family.
By large-scale random sequencing, this work identified a novel homolog of ACADs from human dendritic cell (DC) cDNA library that contains an open reading frame (ORF) of 1866bp and is named as acyl-CoA dehydrogenase-9 (ACAD-9), the ninth member of ACADS. Expand
Zinc Finger Protein Zbtb20 Is Essential for Postnatal Survival and Glucose Homeostasis
The data indicate that the phenotype of Zbtb20 knockout mice results from liver-dependent and -independent defects, suggesting that Zbt b20 plays nonredundant roles in multiple organ systems. Expand

SAD-A kinase was identified as a pancreas-specific mediator of incretin response in islet β cells, and ablation of Thr443 significantly enhanced GLP-1's effect on GSIS from isolated mouse islets. Expand
Organ of Corti and Stria Vascularis: Is there an Interdependence for Survival?
It is shown that normal function of the stria is essential for adult outer hair cell survival, while the survival and normalfunction of the Stria vascularis do not depend on functional hair cells. Expand
