A dynamic two-phase commit protocol for self-adapting services
- Weihai Yu, Yan Wang, C. Pu
- Computer ScienceIEEE International Conference onServices…
- 15 September 2004
An improved 2PC that is suitable for Web services based applications by allowing every individual service provider to choose dynamically the most appropriate presumption for any distributed transaction.
Next generation middleware: requirements, architecture, and prototypes
- F. Eliassen, V. Goebel, Øyvind Hanssen
- Computer ScienceProceedings 7th IEEE Workshop on Future Trends of…
- 20 December 1999
A next generation middleware architecture that conforms to requirements and is characterised by being open, and adaptable based on the principle of reflection is proposed.
Supporting String-Wise Operations and Selective Undo for Peer-to-Peer Group Editing
- Weihai Yu
- Computer ScienceGroup
- 9 November 2014
This paper presents an approach that combines and extends OT and CRDT strengths and supports string-wise editing operations and selective undo, and shows that it provides sufficient responsiveness to the end-users.
A Dynamic Two-Phase Commit Protocol for Adaptive Composite Services
An improved 2PC is presented that allows every individual service provider to choose dynamically the most appropriate presumption for any distributed transaction and shows that in some heterogeneous settings, combining different presumptions in individual transactions outperforms adopting only one single presumption.
Continuation-passing enactment of distributed recoverable workflows
This work proposes a fully decentralized approach to workflow enactment that is of continuation-passing style, where continuations, or the reminder of the executions, are passed along with asynchronous messages for workflow enactment.
Green Transportation Choices with IoT and Smart Nudging
- Anders Andersen, R. Karlsen, Weihai Yu
- EconomicsHandbook of Smart Cities, Software Services and…
- 2018
This work should motivate people to make green transportation choices and provide them with situationally relevant details about when and how to do so, and can provide smart nudging with the combination of Sense, Analyse and Inform and Nudge.
Arctic beans, configurable and re-configurable enterprise component architectures

A string-wise CRDT for group editing
- Weihai Yu
- Computer ScienceGroup
- 27 October 2012
This note presents a CRDT that addresses some of the limitations of existing OT and CRDT work and proposes a new approach called commutative replicated data types (CRDT) that addresses these limitations.
An Experimental Study of Centralized and Decentralized Service Orchestration Approaches
- M. Haque, Weihai Yu, A. Andersen
- Computer Science
- 2011
This work investigates some performance characteristics of different orchestration approaches for composite web services and will use the empirical results as a guideline of future research.
A CRDT Supporting Selective Undo for Collaborative Text Editing
- Weihai Yu, Luc André, C. Ignat
- Computer ScienceIFIP International Conference on Distributed…
- 2 June 2015
This work examines issues concerning undo in collaborative text editing and presents an approach using a layered commutative replicated data type CRDT that provides sufficient responsiveness to the end users.
