The characterization of the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe mtIF2 and mtIF3 suggests that Mti2 and Mti3 bind in a sequential manner to the small subunit of the mitoribosome and that Mounti3 facilitates the function of Mti 2 in mitochondrial translation initiation. Expand
Schizosaccharomyces pombe Ppr10 is required for mitochondrial translation.
It is found that deletion of ppr10 did not affect the levels of mature cox1 and cob1 mRNAs in a mitochondrial intronless background, and this results provide further support for the idea that Ppr10 plays a critical role in mitochondrial translation. Expand
