Oil Palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)
The oil palm, Elaeis guineensis, is a monocotyledonous tree belonging to the coccoid group of palms that grows over a period of years to a height of up to 15 m, after which harvesting becomes increasingly difficult, and yields decline slowly.
