Existing concepts of vigilance for the awake stages are not contradictory to the following observations: the factor structure of EEG relative power spectrum variables shows a negative correlation of slow alpha-frequencies with those in the delta F- and beta 3F-band.

The SIESTA project had two major goals: developing new tools for analyzing computer-based sleep recordings and creating a reference database for sleep-related features. Basically, both goals have…
Frontal and Temporal Dysfunction of Auditory Stimulus Processing in Schizophrenia
The results suggest that (1) the source in the nonprimary auditory cortex is detected only with a multiple dipole approach and (2) that the N1 generators in the ACC andIn schizophrenic patients are dysfunctional in schizophrenia, in line with the notion that attention deficits in schizophrenia involve an extended cortical network.

The clinical efficacy of the ginkgo biloba special extract EGb 761 in dementia of the Alzheimer type and multi-infarct dementia was confirmed and the investigational drug was found to be well tolerated.
P300 and LORETA: Comparison of Normal Subjects and Schizophrenic Patients
It is concluded that LORETA correctly localizes P300-related cortical activity maxima on the basis of 19 electrodes except for lateral cortical aspects which is most likely an edge-phenomenon.
Association Analysis of Exonic Variants of the GABAB-Receptor Gene and Alpha Electroencephalogram Voltage in Normal Subjects and Alcohol-Dependent Patients
It is concluded that this particular association may only be observable under physiologic conditions and that alpha low voltage in alcohol-dependent subjects is under the control of either different genes or that it is related to the disease process.
