We designed a gasscintillation proportional detector (GSPD) with a diameter of 7 cm for the detection of X-rays in the energy range of 5 to 16 keV. First results are presented, including some from test experiments at LEAR, CERN. An energy resolution of 9% has been obtained at 6 keV. For timing pre-scintillation can be used.
