Ultrasound appearance of intragallbladder haemorrhage in two patients with haemobilia is presented. Gallbladder lumina were occupied by non-shadowing, firm masses of mixed echogenicity representing blood clots. In both cases iatrogenic trauma following percutaneous transcholecystic cholangiography and blind hepatic biopsy caused bleeding in the biliary tree.
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility, safety and short-term outcomes of transfemoral transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TF-TAVI) in patients with small diseased peripheral vessels. BACKGROUND The transfemoral (TF) route for transcatheter aortic valve (TAVI) is the default option due to associated advantages. However, this(More)
Despite optimal medical management, some patients with severe right ventricular failure fail to respond and may benefit from additional support with the implantation of a RV assist device. Experience to date with Impella RP is limited. We report a case of percutaneous Impella RP implantation, using a parallel stiff wire to reduce anatomical tortuosity by(More)
The Authors report on their experience about SvO2 continuous monitoring in order to find out the best therapeutic answer to inotropic drugs, knowing that, at constant values of SaO2 and Hb, possible variations of SvO2 reliably correspond with parallel variations of cardiac index (IC). Two groups of 15 patients each, suffering from low out-put syndrome, have(More)
Three cases of secondary gastric lymphoma are presented in which diagnosis was suggested by ultrasound (US) and confirmed by endoscopy and microscopical examination. Three different US patterns are illustrated and compared with endoscopy. US findings paralleled endoscopy during follow-up under antiblastic treatment: both improvement and lack of change in(More)
