Interoperability usually refers to software system communication. Although there is no widely accepted definition, and therefore no common understanding of the context, there are multiple solutions (protocols, architectures, components) that promise to solve integration issues. The INTEROP network of excellence aims at proposing a large view of… (More)
This paper aims at proposing a global view of the interoperability problem, independently of any domain. We first describe explicitly the problem, and the context in which it appears. We then suggest a general structure to handle the possible solutions. Finally, we propose some possible application of our model.
For year now we have been working on the definition of something we could call a "model of software engineering". Although this might sound very ambitious, this work is driven by concrete objectives and the results are applied in day to day work in the context of our consulting and software development projects. It is obviously impossible to present the… (More)
