In the human thalamic ventralis lateralis nucleus the spontaneous activity of 235 single units during 38 stereotactic operations in locally anaesthetized parkinsonian patients was analysed. Two basic cell types (A and B) were shown to exist in this nucleus: (i) with unitary irregular (2-40/s) discharges characterized by a tendency to spike grouping in the… (More)

Potential theory on the complement of a subset of the real axis attracts a lot of attention both in function theory and applied sciences. The paper discusses one aspect of the theory-the logarithmic capacity of closed subsets of the real line. We give simple but precise upper and lower bounds for the logarithmic capacity of multiple intervals and a lower… (More)

The change of conformal moduli of polygonal quadrilaterals under some geometric transformations is studied. We consider the motion of one vertex when the other vertices remain fixed, the rotation of sides, polarization, symmetriza-tion, and averaging transformation of the quadrilaterals. Some open problems are formulated.

We consider an extremal problem for polynomials, which is dual to the well-known Smale mean value problem. We give a rough estimate depending only on the degree.

This paper presents a way to implementation of NCES models, which find a big application in the field of industrial automation. A cornerstone of the implementation approach proposed is the event graph driven architecture for computation of steps. The event graph-based interpreter of sNCES models was developed using logic programming language Prolog.
