Behavior of iron forms and its differentiation in the soil profile in embryozems of different soil-climatic zones of the Kuznetsk Basin are considered for the first time as a diagnostic indicator of the character, intensity, and direction of soil processes.
Comparison of iron forms content in the profile of embryozems of technogenic landscapes in the steppe core of the Kuznetsk Basin and of zonal soils revealed a significant genetic difference. This is considered to be a diagnostic feature of the type, rate, and orientation of soil processes.
