Native animal sera are effectively freeze concentrated by slow cooling to -8oC for 18–24 h at a velocity of 0.1-0.5oC/h. The initial serum is concentrated 2-6-fold by this method. Use of concentrated serum reduces the incidence of gastroenteritis during the postnatal period of animal development and improves the survival.
