Evidence is obtained that hypertension produces a cascade involving production of ROSs from the NADPH oxidase leading to oxidation of tetrahydrobiopterin and uncoupling of endothelial NO synthase (eNOS), which decreases NO production and increases ROS production from eNOS.

PCI Strategies in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction and Cardiogenic Shock
Among patients who had multivessel coronary artery disease and acute myocardial infarction with cardiogenic shock, the 30‐day risk of a composite of death or severe renal failure leading to renal‐replacement therapy was lower among those who initially underwent PCI of the culprit lesion only than amongThose who underwent immediate multivessels PCI.

Reduced HDL-associated paraoxonase 1 (PON1) activity is identified as one molecular mechanism leading to the generation of HDL with endothelial PKCβII-activating properties, at least in part due to increased formation of malondialdehyde in HDL.
