In patients treated with SoC antibiotics, BEZ is effective in decreasing rCDI, and the greatest benefit has been demonstrated in high-risk patients, though the targeted patient population is yet to be defined.
Discordance of SHEA/IDSA Clostridium difficile Disease Severity Scale in Solid Organ Transplant Patients
Severity scales with heavy emphasis on white blood cell counts may not adequately categorize solid organ transplant patients and immunocompromised status may need to be considered on its own when categorizing CDI severity and prescribing therapy.
Quality Assessment of Process Measures in Antimicrobial Stewardship: Concordance of Cefepime Indication Without Automatic Prospective Approval in Computerized Provider Order Entry
The selected CPOE cefepime indication and subsequent dosing recommendations had high concordance rates with suspected/confirmed infections at the authors' institution, lends support for the IDSA/SHEA recommendation of incorporating computerized decision support as an AST tool.
1814. External Validation of Precision Antibiotic Therapy for Enterococcal Bloodstream Infections
PAT software was able to discriminate enterococcal BSIs resistant and susceptible to vancomycin, and may be useful to accurately predict susceptibilities for Enterococcus spp.
751. Impact of Changing from a Three-step to Two-step Testing Algorithm for the Diagnosis of Clostridioides difficile
Although there was a higher percentage of patients in the post-group that tested positive for C. difficile by NAAT alone, there was no difference in the proportion or total number of patients who received targeted CDI treatment between time periods.
Surveillance of mortality and causes of death among HIV-infected inpatients
High mortality rate (58.06%) was associated with low CD4+ lymphocytes count and Opportunistic infections were the most frequent cause of death even in the post-HAART era in patients hospitalized in a reference center.
590. Tackling HIV/AIDS in Brooklyn New York Within a Network of Federally Qualified Health Centers
By building an infrastructure that follows best practices in a culturally sensitive context, the FHC is able to provide greater access to care in a dwindling population while creating a medical home for quality care regardless of payer base, race, or gender.
Quality Assessment of Process Measures in Antimicrobial Stewardship: Concordance of Valacyclovir Indication and Automatic Prospective Approval in Computerized Provider Order Entry
Abstract Background The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) recommend computerized decision support at the time of prescribing…
54. Effectiveness of a Venous Catheter Stewardship Intervention Targeting Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy at Hospital Discharge
Prospective audit of PICC/midline orders for OPAT identified a line-sparing opportunity in nearly 1 in 4 cases and should be considered for institutions that do not mandate infectious diseases consult for all OPAT discharges.
82. Assessment of Clinical Outcomes and Antibiotic Prescribing Patterns Following Implementation of the GenMark ePlex® Blood Culture Identification Panel for Gram-positive Bloodstream Infections

Investigation of the GenMark ePlex® BCID-GP panel reduced time to targeted antibiotic therapy by nearly 24 hours, and the findings will inform the design of a dedicated RDT antimicrobial stewardship intervention at this institution, while also being generalizable to other institutions with RDT capabilities.
