Genomic sequence of the pathogenic and allergenic filamentous fungus Aspergillus fumigatus
- W. Nierman, A. Pain, D. Denning
- BiologyNature
- 22 December 2005
The Af293 genome sequence provides an unparalleled resource for the future understanding of this remarkable fungus and revealed temperature-dependent expression of distinct sets of genes, as well as 700 A. fumigatus genes not present or significantly diverged in the closely related sexual species Neosartorya fischeri, many of which may have roles in the pathogenicity phenotype.
Genome sequencing and analysis of Aspergillus oryzae

Specific expansion of genes for secretory hydrolytic enzymes, amino acid metabolism and amino acid/sugar uptake transporters supports the idea that A. oryzae is an ideal microorganism for fermentation.
The Eukaryotic Polypeptide Chain Releasing Factor (eRF3/GSPT) Carrying the Translation Termination Signal to the 3′-Poly(A) Tail of mRNA
- S. Hoshino, M. Imai, Tetsuo Kobayashi, N. Uchida, T. Katada
- Biology, ChemistryJournal of Biological Chemistry
- 11 June 1999
The present study is the first report showing that GSPT/eRF3 carries the translation termination signal to 3′-poly(A) tail ubiquitously present in eukaryotic mRNAs, indicating that G SPT may play important roles not only in the termination of protein synthesis but also in the regulation of mRNA stability.
USP33 regulates centrosome biogenesis via deubiquitination of the centriolar protein CP110
- Ji Li, V. D’Angiolella, B. Dynlacht
- BiologyNature
- 14 March 2013
This work reports the first centriolar deubiquitinating enzyme whose expression regulates centrosome homeostasis by countering cyclin-F-mediated destruction of a key substrate, and points towards potential therapeutic strategies for inhibiting tumorigenesis associated withCentrosome amplification.
The CP110-interacting proteins Talpid3 and Cep290 play overlapping and distinct roles in cilia assembly
- Tetsuo Kobayashi, Sehyun Kim, Yu-Chun Lin, Takanari Inoue, B. Dynlacht
- BiologyJournal of Cell Biology
- 20 January 2014
Talpid3 and Cep290 promote proper ciliary vesicle formation by regulating centriolar satellite accretion and Rab8a localization.

Regulating the transition from centriole to basal body
- Tetsuo Kobayashi, B. Dynlacht
- BiologyJournal of Cell Biology
- 2 May 2011
Recent findings have begun to shed light on pathways that regulate the conversion of centrioles to basal bodies and vice versa, and provide insights into how defects in the balance between centrosome and cilia function could promote ciliopathies and cancer.

The SskA and SrrA Response Regulators Are Implicated in Oxidative Stress Responses of Hyphae and Asexual Spores in the Phosphorelay Signaling Network of Aspergillus nidulans
- D. Hagiwara, Y. Asano, T. Mizuno
- BiologyBioscience, biotechnology and biochemistry
- 23 April 2007
When examined these mutant strains under various conditions stressful for hyphal growth and asexual spore development, two of them showed a marked phenotype of hypersensitivity to oxidative stresses, indicative of the physiological importance of the His-Asp phosphorelay signaling network involving the SskA and SrrA response regulators.
