Dynamic protection mechanism was proposed to provision each individual LSP in a group LSP with differentiated survivability. A resilient multi-QoS burst streams transmission over the group LSP was demonstrated in a GMPLS-controlled transparent optical network.

The design of Layer 2/lambda-hybrid Internet exchange (IX) is presented in order to provide lambda connectivity services as well as to achieve layer 2 traffic congestion control. The trial results of such hybrid IX field environment are described from the point of lambda path provisioning as well as bandwidth modification operation.
A centralized path computation element integrated with optical performance monitoring was developed for transparent optical network. Appropriate path establishment satisfying requisite transmission performance was successfully confirmed in the testbed.
