It is pointed out that, although the ESS may no longer be a polymorphic equilibrium, there is a connection between them and it is proved that a strict Nash equilibrium is a pure-strategy ESS that is a locally asymptotically stable equilibrium of the replicator equation in n-str strategy time-constrained matrix games.

It is verified that an ESS can be described as a neighbourhood invader strategy independently of the dimension of the strategy space in the authors' non-linear situation too, and a dynamic characterization under the replicator dynamics in two dimensions which corresponds to the strong stability concept for classical evolutionary matrix games.
