Nafuredin, a novel inhibitor of NADH-fumarate reductase, produced by Aspergillus niger FT-0554.
A novel compound, nafuredin, was isolated as an inhibitor of anaerobic electron transport (NADH-fumarate reductase) and elucidated as an epoxy-delta-lactone with an attached methylated olefinic side chain on the basis of spectral analysis.

Electrophoretic mobility shift assays indicate that EM has inhibitory effects not only on the mRNA expression and release of IL-8, but also on the activation of transcription factors NF-kappaB and AP-1, which support the concept that the recruitment of neutrophils in airway diseases may be regulated.
Motilides, macrolides with gastrointestinal motor stimulating activity. I. O-substituted and tertiary N-substituted derivatives of 8,9-anhydroerythromycin A 6,9-hemiacetal.
