Dominant‐negative inhibition of breast cancer resistance protein as drug efflux pump through the inhibition of S‐S dependent homodimerization
It is suggested that homodimer formation is essential for B CRP drug resistance, implicating this dominant‐negative inhibition of BCRP drug efflux pump as a new strategy to circumvent drug resistance.
Influence of superplasticizers on the hydration of cement and the pore structure of hardened cement
Abstract This paper describes the influence of various types of superplasticizers such as naphthalene type (β-NS), refined lignin sulfonate type (LS) and polycarboxylate types (P34, S34) on the
Bilobalide in ginkgo biloba extract is a major substance inducing hepatic CYPs
It is indicated that bilobalide is the major substance in GBE that induces hepatic CYPs, and treatment with GBE and with bilobalides greatly induced pentoxyresorufin O‐dealkylase activity.
Induction and recovery of hepatic drug metabolizing enzymes in rats treated with Ginkgo biloba extract.
Results indicated that GBE-induced hepatic drug metabolizing enzymes in rats, especially CYPs, were rapidly recovered by discontinuation of GBE in rats even after excess treatment, and suggested that interactions of G BE with drugs could be avoided by discontinuated GBE.
Protective effect of flavonoids on doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity.
The combination of alpha G-Rutin and luteolin with DOX significantly inhibited the DOX induced-increment of the lipid peroxide level in bone marrow cells, and it was considered that the reduction effect of DOX toxicity by flavonoids was caused by antioxidative action and other effect of the flavonoid.

It was proved that theanine increased not only the antitumor activity on primary tumor but also the metastasis-suppressive efficacy of doxorubicin.
Enhancing effects of green tea components on the antitumor activity of adriamycin against M5076 ovarian sarcoma.
It is found that the modulating action of theanine is useful in clinical cancer chemotherapy and shows antitumor efficacy in spite of the non-effective dose of adriamycin on M5076 ovarian sarcoma.
Theanine, a specific glutamate derivative in green tea, reduces the adverse reactions of doxorubicin by changing the glutathione level.
Results suggested that theanine attenuated the DOX-induced adverse reactions involved in oxidative damage, due to increase in glutamate and the recovery of GSH levels in normal tissues.
Selective protection of curcumin against carbon tetrachloride-induced inactivation of hepatic cytochrome P450 isozymes in rats.
Dietary intake of curcumin may protect against CCl(4)-induced hepatic CYP inactivation via its antioxidant properties, without inducing hepatic cytochrome P450 activity.
Ginkgo biloba extract modifies hypoglycemic action of tolbutamide via hepatic cytochrome P450 mediated mechanism in aged rats.
The present study has shown that the simultaneous and continuous intake of GBE significantly affects the hypoglycemic action of tolbutamide, possibly via a hepatic CYP enzyme-mediated mechanism, particularly in the aged rats.
