Relation between the Serum E‐Selectin Level and the Survival Rate of Patients with Resected Non‐small Cell Lung Cancers
Patients who have high serum E‐selectin levels, especially with carbohydrate antigen‐positive NSCLC, might be expected to have poor prognoses. Expand
The hypertrophic uncinate process of the pancreas wrapping the superior mesenteric vein and artery —A case report—
The hypertrophic uncinate process of the pancreas wrapping the superior mesenteric vein and artery was discovered during surgery on a patient with nodular chronic pancreatitis. Such a rare anomalyExpand
Perioperative Challenges and Surgical Treatment of Large Simple, and Infectious Liver Cyst - A 12-Year Experience
Simple large cysts of the liver can be successfully treated by laparoscopic deroofing and alcohol sclerotherapy and should be removed surgically to avoid possible infection. Expand
Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy with continuous low dose administration of cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil for multiple recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma after surgical treatment.
Based on multivariate analysis, CDDP,5-FU hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy was found to be significant in prolonging survival, and this treatment achieved favorable therapeutic results for multiple recurrence of HCC. Expand
A novel leflunomide derivative, FK778, for immunosuppression after kidney transplantation in dogs.
FK778 is a promising new immunosuppressant that may be used in combination with current standard drugs in organ transplantation and is evaluated in a canine kidney transplantation model. Expand
Comparison of liver regeneration after a splenectomy and splenic artery ligation in a dimethylnitrosamine-induced cirrhotic rat model.
A splenectomy significantly improved liver regeneration with reduction of plasma TGF-beta1 levels compared with splenic artery ligation in DMN-treated cirrhotic rats. Expand
Significance of thymidylate synthase gene expression level in patients with adenocarcinoma of the lung
The authors investigated the clinicopathologic significance of TS mRNA levels and the correlation with cellular proliferation in patients with lung adenocarcinoma and found no link with prognosis in some kinds of cancers. Expand
Hepatocellular carcinoma with an unusual neuroendocrine component
It is concluded that this nodule was HCC with neuroendocrine differentiation, and was intermingled with nests of small round cells with scarce cytoplasm, which resembled those found in small cell carcinoma. Expand
Role of cyclic nucleotides in ischemia and reperfusion injury of canine livers.
This study tested the hypothesis that augmentation of endogenous cAMP by phosphodiesterase (PDE) 3 inhibitor, amrinone (AM), or adenylate cyclase stimulator, NKH477 (NKH), could attenuate ischemia and reperfusion injury of the liver and found that regulation of hepatic tissue cyclic nucleotides is an important alternative for prevention of liver damage in liver preservation and surgery. The role of preoperative radiotherapy for invasive thymoma.
Although the clinical responses varied, the surgical specimens of all the tumors pronounced severe fibrosis, probably not related to irradiation, and necrotic foci with a few viable tumor cells. Expand
